How To : Advance Galaxy S firmware tweaks

In the previous posting, I shared about basic firmware update via Odin. This post is for more advanced users who want to apply lag-fix and root.

This is my Quadrant score after these tweaks. 1519 comparing to the original of around 800. Read on after the jump.

First steps are the same as the previous post : http://jllovegadgets.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-install-custom-firmware-for.html.

The difference is just additional PIT file.

After you are done with the firmware, turn off the phone and enter download mode again for lagfix. Use the Voodoo lagfix file for that and apply to PDA.

After these are done. Your phone is no longer rooted. You can do it via 2 methods.
1. Download Busybox from Market
or
2. Download CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1 from XDA Developer  and use ODIN to update the PDA file.

DONE... Have fun.
